Untie the knot of entrails
Stretch the muscles
The lungs force and sustain,
The air clears in the throat
The tongue receives the load
Releases after it grinds

The locked teeth undone
The mouth opens wide and sings
The whole face trembles
Instead of smiling, it marvels
Like a cannon that booms
With rust in it’s throat

Just as the hot breath
Precedes the beast’s roar
Or how the night is born
From a crater's pregnancy
The voice spreads to
Where it had never reached before

The microphones seem
Like long mutant snakes
Copulating with machines
That light up bright with buttons
Ejaculating discharges
Of sound into the speakers

The tongue boils the juice
From a rattlesnake’s fangs
And what the ears collect
Are fragments of venom
Splashed from the mallets
That destroyed Babel

A whistle lets looses a bird
Which tears the space and flies
Which leaves but does not return
Which lights up when singing
Leaving shadows in the memory
But is already dead at the echo

Words are sure like the souls
That light consoles and brings to life
Dancing disorderly
Below, alongside and above
Reflected in mirrors
Of voids in the house of rhyme

Images are balloons trapped
By a cord that can be torn
Because poetry is the presence
Of a figure that is advancing
The song disperses on the wind
And time dissolves the hour

With the gag undone
The dam bursts open
And the captivity broken
Balance the seesaw
A carousel releases the latch
Thus the arrested lady is avenged

In the cry’s decompression
Of freedom and revolt
The heavy gates were opened
A raging bull is released
Whoever leaves shouting ‘forward!’
May fall but not return
