about

“Death shines with each spark of life”

lyrics

LYRICS
ENGLISH:

Just as birds cross the heights
Thousands of red and blue fish
With the blind certainty that something is leading them
Travel distances in dark waters.
But in the ocean there are more creatures
That are hungry and are waiting to devour them
And those who escape will have to stumble
Just like pilgrims exhausted with thirst
Into the arms of men who drag the net
Singing a ciranda on the seashore

In broad chains of piggybacks
There go turtles with bright shells
Who embark for distant shores
That serve as a crib for their descendants
Which tear the eggs and emerge victorious
And run alone to save themselves
But only a few can reach
The saltwater that prevents the embrace
Of the steel-toed grip of the birds,
Singing a ciranda on the seashore

Coconut trees seem like happy observers
Who mock as time swallows humans
And so, as days, months and years pass
They don’t give in, don’t tire, have no scars
But time points to their roots
And the waters begin to approach
Gnawing at their entrails to fell them
Just like the damned, hanging, heavy
In the arms of the wind, proudly dying
Singing a ciranda on the seashore

With brilliantly coloured glass eyes
Forty-storey buildings sway.
Viewed from afar they resemble altars
The forgotten worship of giant gods
That smash time arrogantly, saying
That the free winds cannot pass
And behind the columns that imprison the air
They are squeezed feeling the haze
In the shadows of a few that target the space
Singing a ciranda on the seashore

I keep treading the same sands
Through which the sea runs its fingers and caresses.
On moonlit nights with a soft breeze
I hear the call of the same sirens
I sit on rocks, which during high tide
Waters seek to submerge.
Like combatants going to fight a war
Without hope of fame or glory
They end up as foam, fade from history
Singing a ciranda on the seashore

Coqueiros parecem vigias felizes
E assim passam dias e meses e anos
Não cedem, não cansam, não tem cicatrizes
Mas o tempo aponta pra suas raízes
E as águas começam a se aproximar
Roendo as entranhas pra lhes derrubar
